Harvard Business Review: Did WFH Hurt the Video Game Industry?

The Harvard Business Review recently published an article by co-founder and president, Ben Waber. This article surrounds the topic of how working from home- WFH- may be doing more harm than good to industries such as the video game industry. Here are excerpts where Ben quotes Humanyze data…

“Specifically, Humanyze observed a 21% drop in weak ties in organizational networks for companies that shifted to a remote work model, which are defined here as ties that represent the equivalent of five to 15 minutes of one-on-one communication (email, chat, and meetings) per week.”

” Humanyze’s data from a number of firms shows that companies need to constantly refresh initiatives like virtual happy hours because they only have a short-term effect on weak-tie creation.”
