Conference: In Proceedings of the ACM Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work. San Diego, CA. November 2008
Taemie Kim, Agnes Chang, Lindsey Holland, and Alex (Sandy) Pentland created a “Meeting Mediator (MM), a wearable that detected social interactions and sent feedback to users to increase collaboration and cohesion. The system used Sociometric badges to gather social interactions. Then, the system would visualize these interactions on cellphones, giving instant feedback.
As a result of MM, the team was able to identify individuals who dominated conversations, helping improve face-to-face communication and teamwork.
